To start off, i would give it 9.5 if i could. To say this movie is good is an understatement. The fact that this even exist should not be possible yet it is and somehow it doesn't only exists. It's also great. I somewhat feel like this is something that is looked over. People are taking this stuff for granted. I repeat myself in saying. This should not exists. There shouldnt be 22 movies within the same franchise that all are this well connected and not to mention that literally each and every one (with few exceptions) are either good, great or mediocre. Not one that is objectivly bad, except maybe Thor 2. br> The mere fact is that they built up for this conclusion in 10 years worth of movies and the result is a movie that is consistent, true to the character and established world and is most importantly still enjoyable. This is very much an end of an era and they couldn't have done it better.
Now bellow will be spoilers so if you for some reason ignored the spoiler wanring and read this far i advice you not to continue. You want to see this movie with no knowledge.
The ending for our main heroes is great. Lets start by saying that keeping Thor is great, his character still has a place to grow from and i think he will fit with the Guardians.
Steve Rogers. I would have been satisfied and not surprised if they chose to end him in battle. Yet they made something so much more beautiful. I cannot stress enough how perfect his ending is. Leaving over the shield. But most importantly, retiring. He was a soldier but even those need to settle down. The ending shot of him with Peggy dancing is one of the most beautiful parts of any marvel movie if not the best. Such a great way to end his story - where he started. In a life that was stolen.
Tony goddamned Stark. There couldn't have ended in any other way. Tony is a fighter, no matter how much he tries to fool himself he will always fight. Unoike Steve he could never live out his life in peace, this is why his ending is so perfect. Doing whats right. For the better of others. From his last words to his voice memo telling his daughter he loves her 3000. Tony Stark does have a heart.
The plot is also something i'll briefly comment on. What a great way to end such an epic and long stort - by literally going back to where it started. They made sure the infinity stones would be gone and yet made a conclusive and good way to do it. They made the losses feel real and you were on the edge of your seat watching.
Lastly i want to explaib why it isn't a 10 in my book. Now obviiusly for a 10 the lovie ought to be perfect and while i biew this to be so in many ways there are a few small issues i had. I really felt like some of the jokes, such as the fortnite one, didn't really fit for me. Ialso still think Cpt Marvel is overpowered and boring - however they made sure to keeo her away which i appreciated. I also disliked the cgi on Thor's Peter B Parker belly. These are just nitpicks and overall they didnt stop me from lovint this lovie.
Tl;dr APPRECIATE THIS, Remember that this movie should bot be possible yet it is and its great. Watch it and enjoy it. Don't spoil it for anyone though.
